Delta state still tops the medal table of the on going Nigeria’s annual National Sports Festival tagged ‘Eko 2012′ holding at main bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, this is according to performance update released by the National Sports Commission (NSC). The result shows that Delta State tops the list in the number of gold, silver and bronze medals obtained so far.
Defending champions in the last edition, Rivers State is second on the medals table, while host state, Lagos is placed third on the table, and Edo State is fourth.
A total number of 705 medals have been won as at December 5, 2012; 204 gold, 204 silver and 297 bronze medals.
The festival ends on Sunday December 9, 2012, the closing ceremony is also expected at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
